Description
This tour pairs the two best ways to see old Bangkok: a bicycle and a longtail boat. You start in Rattanakosin, the district where the city began, cycling about 13 km through alleyways, local neighbourhoods and past the old city walls built with Ayutthaya bricks, with the Khao San Road area on the route. Back at the riverfront you step onto a longtail boat and head out on the Chao Phraya River, then turn into the quieter canal network, where wooden stilt houses line the water. There is a stop in a canal-side neighbourhood before the boat brings you back to the pier. You get the energy of the streets and the calm of the waterways in one morning or afternoon.

Meet in the old town near Phra Chan pier
Meet at the start point on Phra Chan Alley, a 5 minute walk from Sanam Luang between the Grand Palace and Khao San Road. Tours depart at 08:00 and 13:00.
Ride through Rattanakosin's back roads, local communities and past the fortified city walls built with old Ayutthaya bricks, passing the Khao San Road area.
Cycle back to the river and swap the bike for a classic longtail boat on the Chao Phraya River.
Turn off the river into the quieter canal network, passing wooden stilt houses, with a stop in a canal-side neighbourhood before returning to the pier.
