Meet at River City Bangkok and board a tuk tuk
You meet your guide in front of the River City Complex by the river. From here you climb into a local tuk tuk to start the food trail through Chinatown.
Your first stop is Lim Lao Now, a Chinatown noodle spot. You try its fishball egg noodles, a classic bowl in this part of the city.
You walk onto Yaowarat Road, Chinatown's main street, for Pa Tong Go, the Thai take on Chinese doughnuts, served fresh from the fryer.
Next is Nai Ek, known for its thinly rolled rice noodles. It is a long-running Yaowarat eatery on the street food trail.
You stop for crab fried rice served with lime and chili in fish sauce. It is one of the dishes the route is built around.
Along the way you pass Rajadamnoen Avenue, the grand boulevard that links the Grand Palace to Dusit Palace.
You finish the food trail at Jay Fai, the only street food stall in Thailand to hold a Michelin star. Your guide tells you the story behind the place.
To end the evening you choose between a drop-off at the Teens Of Thailand bar on the edge of Chinatown or a return to Samyan MRT station.

River City Bangkok
River City Bangkok is the riverside complex in Si Phraya, just off Charoen Krung Road; any taxi or Grab driver knows it by name. Coming by river, get off at Si Phraya pier next to the Royal Orchid Sheraton and walk a couple of minutes, and from BTS Saphan Taksin you can pick up the Chao Phraya Express boat at Sathorn pier. Meet the group at River City Bangkok. Please arrive by 17:45, 15 minutes before the 18:00 departure.
The group meets in front of River City Bangkok by 17:45 for the 18:00 start, and the format alternates all evening: a tuk-tuk hop to the next neighbourhood, then a walk through Yaowarat to eat.
Come hungry. The included tastings, fishball noodles, fresh Chinese doughnuts, rolled rice noodles and crab fried rice, add up to a full dinner spread over the evening. Anything extra you fancy along the way, or anything from the drink stalls, is your own expense, so carry some cash.
The Jay Fai stop is a viewing stop: you see Thailand’s only Michelin-starred street stall and hear its story, but her dishes are not part of the tour, since tables there have to be arranged far in advance.
At the end you choose the drop-off: the Teens of Thailand bar on the edge of Chinatown if you want to keep the night going, or Samyan MRT station if you are done.
FAQs
Enough to call it dinner: fishball egg noodles at Lim Lao Now, fresh Pa Tong Go from the fryer, thin rolled noodles at Nai Ek and crab fried rice, spread across the evening. Anything beyond the included tastings is your own expense, so bring some cash.

We joined with friends and laughed through most of the tuk tuk rides. The crab fried rice with lime and chilli was my favourite plate of the night. Our guide explained every dish before we tasted it and answered lots of questions.

The first tuk tuk ride put everyone in a fun mood. Portions were well judged, so we could enjoy every tasting without wasting food. Our guide found good places to stand while the food was being prepared. I ordered an extra water.

This was easily the most entertaining dinner we had in Bangkok. Fresh Pa Tong Go straight from the fryer was simple and ridiculously good. The guide knew how to keep the group together in crowded Yaowarat. Rajadamnoen Avenue looked impressive under the city lights. There was plenty of food for dinner, so eating beforehand would be a mistake.
